Welcome to
Upcountry Advocate
Non-Attorney Special Education IEP Advocates

We take a hands-on, neurodivergent-affirming approach to IEP advocacy. We can explain every part of the process—as much or as little as you want to know—and walk beside you at every step. You won’t get passed off. We both work on every case, so you benefit from two perspectives grounded in experience, empathy, and strategy.
We know, from personal experience, what it’s like to sit in meetings where acronyms fly, data is murky, and your concerns are brushed aside. Where you start to wonder if you're really making the right choices... Our job is to make sure your voice is heard, your rights are upheld, and your child’s strengths are recognized. We show up prepared—with facts, with compassion, and with a commitment to the truth.

We believe families should feel confident, not confused. We’ll help you understand your options, clarify the process, decode school communication, and advocate effectively from Early Intervention through Graduation and Regional Center transition. As members of COPAA (with Maia a SEAT 2.0 graduate), we follow a strict code of ethics and always center the student’s best interest. Our goal isn’t just to win—it’s to repair relationships when possible, because your child will still be part of this school community long after the meeting ends.

We believe all students can learn—and should be supported in the ways that work for them.

We honor and validate neurodivergent identities and perspectives, and we help teams move toward inclusive, respectful, and strengths-based solutions.
